The Sitka Youth Leadership Committee (SYLC) is an afterschool prevention program that brings together teens from across schools and cliques to promote respect and nonviolence. Youth led activities include education/outreach, media, and outdoor leadership and address identity, cliques, and support systems; leadership, diversity, nonviolent communication, and interrupting oppression; participation in the annual Choose Respect march; videos on respect, feeling connected, and taking action.
